Actor John Dumelo Withdraws From NDC Ayawaso West Wuogon Primaries |Multiple award-winning Ghanaian Actor Mr John Dumelo is in the news again as reported that he has withdrawn from contesting in the Ayawaso West Wuogon primaries for the National Democratic Congress(NDC).
This seems very confusing, John was heavily working hard on campaigning for the sit and all of a sudden withdraws due to personal reasons?, this must be something serious.
The actor is however yet to make a public statement indicating why he decided to withdraw from contesting the primary seat of Ayawaso West Wuogon.
A Deputy National Communications Director of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), said Dumelo did not qualify to contest because he does not vote in the constituency and has no right to contend.
“We have the register for the constituency and I know he is not a member of this constituency. When did he transfer his vote or registered here, the right thing must be done. His constituency is Hohoe, that’s where he votes” she said.
A total of eight persons expressed interest in contesting in the elections to lead the party in the by-election for the constituency in January 2019, but at the close of filing on Saturday, December 22, only three persons successfully filed their nomination.
The three are Ekwow Acquah, Delali Kwasi Brempong and Donna Selassie Agbo. Three other candidates, Alhaji Isaah Kamara, Catherine Abrokwa Mante and Kojo Twum Boafo, failed to file their nominations before the 5:00pm deadline.
