We received the saddest news this morning. Former Vice President of Ghana, Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur, has passed on. This sad incident occurred at the Airforce gym on the morning of June 29, where he collapsed.
News reaching us show that the former vice president, Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur, has joined his ancestors through the painful hands of death. It has been alleged that Mr. Amissah Arthur collapsed at his residence and so far, the cause of his death is still unknown. Reports from Joy FM indicates that he died after collapsing at the Airforce gym on the morning of Friday, June 29th.
He was later rushed to the 37 military hospital where he finally passed on after failed efforts to bring him back to life.
Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur was the former vice president of Ghana under the erstwhile Mahama administration. Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur was born on 29 April 1951.
He is a Ghanaian economist, academic, and politician who was the sixth Vice-President of Ghana, in office from 6 August 2012 until 7 January 2017, under President John Dramani Mahama.
He was sworn in as Vice-President on 6 August 2012, following vetting by the Parliament of Ghana. He was nominated by President John Dramani Mahama to be the vice-president a week after Mahama himself was sworn in. This followed the sudden death of John Evan Atta Mills on 24 July 2012.
