Referring to Nyantakyi as his “son”, the Wa Naa whose speech to the vice president was read by Dajenn Naa, Naa Seidu Bomison Junior, described Nyantakyi’s alleged acts of corruption in the video.
But he believes that his “son” should be forgiven all the same.
“On his [Nyantakyi] behalf, I wish to apologize to you, once again to the President of the Republic of Ghana, and all Ghanaians, for forgiveness,” the speech read.
Nyantakyi is from Wa in the Upper West Region, and reports indicate that he had made a significant contribution to the development of the area.
For instance, Nyantakyi owns Wa All Stars, a Ghana Premier League club, based in Wa.
For his dedication to developing the area, Kwesi Nyantakyi has made a development chief of the area with the title Jen Jeng Naa Sung Maa.
