Kwesi Nyantakyi’s Second Wife Unhappy…
Kwesi Nyantakyi's second wife will be very unhappy over his arrest and here is why.
Kwesi Nyantakyi is alleged to have used the name of President Nana Akufo-Addo inappropriately during a meeting with some football investors.
According to a Deputy Chief of Staff, Samuel Abu Jinapor, Kwesi Nyantakyi was seen in the video soliciting a bribe from the investors with the claim of giving the amount to the President and his Vice.
President Akufo-Addo after watching the video requested the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service to arrest Kwesi Nyantakyi for defrauding under false pretences.
Less than 24 hours after the President’s request, Kwesi Nyantakyi who was out of the country arrived and handed himself over to the police.
After hours of interrogation on Wednesday, May 23, Kwesi Nyantakyi was granted bail.
The charge of defrauding by false pretences, if it holds, is a second-degree felony which carries a jail term of up to 25 years.
But while a lot of attention has been devoted to the substantive case, little has been said on the possible effects it will have on Nyantakyi’s family especially his second wife whom he married about 10 months ago.
Being a Muslim, Kwesi Nyantakyi took a second wife in a private ceremony sometime in July 2017. The lady is Mariama Sannie, a 23-year-old graduate of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
Having married for a little under one year, one would have expected that Mariama will be in a marital bliss but it seems she must cut the bliss short and brace herself up for some tough times ahead.
Because apart from the possible jail term, her husband’s reputation will suffer a jolt even if he is able to beat this scandal as he has often done and life will never be the same.
With just about two months to your first wedding anniversary, Mariama should be thinking about where and how to celebrate and not about a possible jail term for her husband.
She, undoubtedly, must be one of the unhappiest people in Ghana right now.
